El Centro de Acopio Animal tiene la clara visión de que la educación es la principal fuente de aprendizaje para el cuidado de nuestras mascotas, por lo cual estamos enfocados en tres puntos principalmente:
1.- Efectuando pláticas en las escuelas y haciendo talleres prácticos de maestros y alumnos donde se les instruye en el manejo y cuidados de las mascotas, con los temas de calendario de vacunación, desparasitación, importancia de la esterilización y castración, y consejos de higiene entre otros.
2.- Repartición de trípticos, folleteria y todo tipo de material impreso.
3.- Spot de radio y televisión mandando mensajes a la población Vallartense y turismo que nos visite sobre la importancia del cuidado de las mascotas.
Es importante que el público en general conozca el reglamento para un cuidado mejor de las mascotas, así como darle difusión a la Ley Protectora de Animales y de la Salud. Como ejemplo citamos la publicación en la gaceta municipal de Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco de fecha Julio del 2005, en donde su título octavo y el artículo 159 menciona lo siguiente:
Toda persona que sea propietario, pocedora o encargada de algún animal, está obligada a darle un buen trato, asear lo y mantener limpio el sitio donde vive. Todo dueño de un animal domestico al transitar en la vía pública deberá de usar correa y recipiente para recoger las heces y entregarlas al camión recolector de desechos sólidos municipales. Es responsable además, de los daños que por su negligencia se causen por tales animales independientemente de que se hará acreedora a las sanciones establecidas por este título y otras leyes relativas.

The CAA of Animal Kennel has the clear vision that education is the main source for learning how to take care of our pets; therefore, we are focused on three major actions:
1.- Organizing speeches at schools and running practical workshops addressing teachers and students where they are instructed on the handling and care of pets, with topics related to vaccination schedule, de-worming, importance of sterilization (spaying) and castration (neutering), hygienic recommendations, among other topics.
2.- Distribution of brochures, handouts and all kinds of printed materials.
3.- Leading radio and TV spots sending messages to Vallarta people and tourism visiting us focused on pets’ care.
It is important for the general public to know about the existing bylaw to better care for the pets, as well as to learn about the Animal and Health Protective Law. As an example, we quote the publication of the Municipal Journal of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, dated on July 2005, whereby in its eighth title and in article 159, it establishes the following:
Everyone being an owner, or in possession or in charge of an animal, is obliged to provide him/her a kind treat, to keep him/her clean and to keep the space where he/she lives clean. Every owner of a domestic animal, while walking on the streets shall walk his/her pet on a leash, and must use a bag or container to grab the pet’s feces and to deliver them to the municipal solid wastes trash collector truck. He/she is responsible for the damages that due to his/her negligence should be provoked by his/her animals, being subject to the sanctions and fines established by this title and other related laws.
